Superintendent Job Description:

Summary:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality workmanship per project plans, specifications, and company standards.
  • Meet customer expectations to help build lasting client relationships.
  • Supervise and maintain a clean and safe job site.
  • Hold weekly safety meetings, daily toolbox talks, and pre-construction meetings.
  • Develop and update project schedule weekly.
  • Schedule and coordinate all field workers, equipment, subcontractors, and suppliers to complete the project on time.
  • Documentation of project issues, changes, notices, change orders, and RFI’s.
  • Utilization of Track / Bid2Win / Procore / safesite / MS Project / Office 365 / Bluebeam software.
  • Prepare project financial projections on a monthly basis.
  • Training and supervising crew members and subcontractors.
  • Maintaining safety, inventory, and supplier needs.

Requirements:

Estimator – Job Description:

Our ideal Estimator candidate will be a self-starter, proficient in construction software, and possess the ability to coordinate and manage rapport with subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and owners. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Know bid documents (plans, specs, addenda, soil reports, etc.) prior to bid review meetings.
  • Effectively communicate risks in each bid to management.
  • Attend client pre-bid meetings, visit project sites, and complete all pre-bid reporting.

Train on the job through MegaKC’s Laborer Apprenticeship Program. Through a two-year training program in partnership with Associated Builders and Contractors, you’ll learn the tools to become a successful employee-owner and build your career at MegaKC.

Earn while you learn: As full-time employees, apprentices are eligible for a competitive salary, performance bonus, comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for development and advancement within the organization. The cost of tuition is prepaid by MegaKC and deducted from wages at a rate of $1.20 per hour over the course of training.

The program includes on-the-job training, classroom training and testing. The academic year starts in September and ends in April.

Superintendent/project manager/estimator internships are available throughout the year to individuals seeking a 4-year degree in engineering and/or construction management. Full-time employees are eligible for a competitive salary, performance bonus, comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for development and advancement within the organization.

  • No travel required. All work is within 50 miles of downtown Kansas City, Mo.
  • Laptop and personal protective equipment are provided.

Interns perform a wide variety of tasks including estimating, project management, and superintendent
duties.

Estimating potential duties:

  • Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and require contents
    of estimate.
  • Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates of self-performed work.-
  • Maintain files of working documents as backup for estimate calculations including subcontractor and supplier quotes or through direct contact.
  • Make recommendations for best solution based on cost, engineering quality and availability of resources.

Assistant superintendent potential duties:

  • Manage and supervise labor and subcontractors.
  • Work with inspectors, owners and engineers on putting work into place, managing change orders and final acceptance of completed work.
  • Other duties assigned by the superintendent to manage the project from startup through completion.
