Missouri Celebrates Employee Ownership Month and Continues Support for ESOP Companies

Employee ownership continues to gain recognition across Missouri as Governor Mike Kehoe officially proclaimed October as Employee Ownership Month in 2025. The proclamation highlights the growing impact employee-owned companies have on Missouri’s economy, workforce development, and local communities. Across the state, ESOP companies and employee-owned businesses continue to demonstrate how shared ownership models create stronger businesses, improve employee engagement, and support long-term economic growth. The proclamation also reflects Missouri’s broader focus on economic development and strengthening locally rooted businesses throughout the state.

Employee ownership has become an increasingly important business model across industries including construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, engineering, and professional services. ESOP companies often prioritize long-term stability, workforce retention, and reinvestment into employees and local communities. Missouri’s recognition of Employee Ownership Month helps raise awareness of the value employee-owned businesses bring to the state while encouraging continued conversations around ownership culture, workforce development, and sustainable business growth. Organizations across Missouri joined together at the State Capitol to celebrate the proclamation and the positive impact employee ownership continues to create statewide.

MegaKC was proud to celebrate alongside fellow employee-owned companies during the signing of the Employee Ownership Month proclamation. As a 100% employee-owned company, MegaKC understands firsthand how employee ownership strengthens accountability, collaboration, and long-term commitment across the organization. MegaKC employee-owner Brian Gordon attended the proclamation signing to help represent the company’s commitment to ESOP culture and shared success. Employee ownership builds stronger businesses, stronger communities, and stronger futures, and MegaKC is honored to be part of Missouri’s growing employee-owned business community.
