Shawnee Mission Park South Loop Trail

MegaKC was selected to perform key construction services for the South Loop Trail and intersection improvement project at Shawnee Mission Park. The project included the construction of a new roundabout at Ridgeview Road and Barkley Drive, excavation and grading, installation of stormwater culverts and site utilities, and both asphalt and concrete paving.

A major highlight of the project was the addition of a two-mile paved pedestrian trail connecting the Gary L. Haller Trail to the Walnut Grove and Parkhurst Trails creating a continuous five-mile loop around the lake. This project enhances trail connectivity, improves access to scenic park areas, and increases overall safety for park visitors. Completed in 2024, the improvements provide lasting recreational and mobility benefits for the community.
