The project involves selective demolition, structural modifications, and hydraulic upgrades across multiple components of the system. Work includes removing designated areas and portions of the common wall to create new emergency overflow weirs and a diversion opening to the north culvert.

A new bending weir will be installed in the south box culvert, supported by a new weir wall, along with additional structural improvements in both culverts such as scab walls, beams, haunches, and wall repairs. The south rock box will be filled and sealed, with utilities rerouted to the north rock box. A new rock box recirculation system will be added, tying into the Turkey Creek Pump Station effluent line and incorporating clog-prevention, clean-out access, and supporting structural work at both the pump station and north rock box.

Improvements also include upgrades to the access structure with new stairs, landing, handrails, exterior lighting, and replacement grating. The existing gate structure will be updated to integrate the new bending weir, supported by enhanced instrumentation and controls for system monitoring and operation. Overall capacity improvements will ensure consistent flow from the box culvert to the Turkey Creek Pump Station and to the outfall during wet-weather conditions.
