Swope Campus Parking Lot and Sustainable Storm Water Improvement Project
Kansas City, Mo.
- Sustainable storm water improvements to the KCMO Water Services Department parking lot, which allows for a 10-year rain event. Improvements include over 10,000 tons of underground water storage aggregate with associated storm drainage piping, 1n200 square yards of 6-inch porous asphalt pavement, 1,200 square yards of 6-inch pervious concrete pavement, 3,500 square yards of permeable pavers, rain gardens, 7,350 linear feet of concrete curb and gutter, 3,950 square yards of 7-inch concrete pavement, 5,100 square yards of 7-inch asphalt pavement, 330 square yards of Grasscrete concrete pavement, 1,775 square yards of exposed-aggregate sidewalk, new structural steel entry canopy, and elaborate landscaping package.
- This project was built in five phases to accommodate continuous access to the building throughout construction for KCMO Water Services’ employees.
